HOW I CAN HELP
OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER
Have you ever felt "crazy" for the thoughts you've had?
Have you worried that your thoughts might mean you're a bad person?
Have you ever felt your mind is "defective", "messed up" or you'll never be "normal"?
Do you believe you have to be perfect and in control or something bad may happen?
Do you try to stop your thoughts so much you end up doing the opposite and feel you'll never get off the "thought roller coaster ride"?
Have you ever engaged in physical or mental rituals to "get rid" of your scary or disturbing thoughts?

These are often thoughts of someone suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. These thoughts can be so debilitating you may spend hours a day thinking and ritualizing to feel some relief but it never seems to get better.

In Ashley's practice, she assists clients in treatment through Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT). These modalities of treatment are evidence-based treatments and are considered the gold standard for treatment of OCD.

If you have had this treatment and it has not been successful it is likely the program was not adequately addressing the compulsions that often pop up during exposure treatment. Having a therapist who is trained and knowledgeable in ERP treatment can make the difference to finding treatment success.
TRAUMA AND CODEPENDENCY
Have you been through trauma in your life that keeps you feeling stuck?
Do you find it difficult to understand how you feel?
Do you find it difficult to connect with others or feel safe in your body?
Do you find it difficult to know what you need and how to communicate that to others?
Have you tried talk therapy before and identified connections but still feel the same way?

If you answered yes to these questions, trauma treatment may be a beneficial next step for you to take. In Ashley's practice, she utilizes Attachment, psychodynamic, TF-CBT and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma treatment.
